Ford Racing Performance Parts has taken its line of Boss block based crate engines to the max displacement with the largest small block Windsor short block ever at a whopping 460 cubic inches! With that many cubes to work with, it’s pretty easy to assemble a 550+ horsepower street cruiser – or with some “hotter” parts well over 600 horsepower. The foundation of the Z460 Short Block is the legendary Ford Racing 9.5-inch deck Boss Block. To reach the 460 cubic inch displacement, the cylinder block is bored to 4.150-inch and fitted with a 4.25-inch stroke crankshaft.
Premium components from top aftermarket parts companies are used throughout the engine, like a SCAT® forged steel crankshaft and forged H-beam connecting rods, forged Mahle® pistons and Clevite® bearings. Every Ford Racing Z460 short block is hand assembled in the U.S. with precise performance clearances.
